Levisticum officinale
Edible plant.
Sprouts in: 7 - 14 days
Harvest in: 5 - 12 weeks
Grows best at: 64 °F – 79 °F / 18 °C – 26 °C
- Lovage grows a bit slowly at the beginning but once it gets going it will quickly produce a lot of stems and leaves.
- Lovage's unique flavor is already fully developed in young leaves and stems. Feel free to harvest the first leaves in full length starting five weeks after planting. More will appear soon and the flavor will intensify as the plant matures.
- Lovage leaves and stems should never be removed all at once if you want to harvest it gradually. For that, just cut each leaf individually and leave smaller leaves to grow.
- Please note! Lovage is a real giant at heart and even though you take all care requirements into account, eventually it will no longer fit in your indoor garden once it matures. If you live in a cool climate, lovage is great for transplanting in your outdoor garden. It will come again every spring and bring you joy for many years.
