Apium graveolens
Edible plant.
Sprouts in: 7 - 14 days
Harvest in: 5 - 12 weeks
Grows best at: 64°F – 79°F
- Please note that leaf celery is a bit heat sensitive and grows better if the max temperature is 79 °F (26 °C). At higher temperatures germination and growth may be inhibited.
- There is no limit to the number of seedlings per pod, so no thinning is required. Just let it thrive!
- You can gradually harvest single leaves one by one, starting about five to seven weeks after planting. It's best to harvest young leaves with the stems in their entirety (full length). Make a low cut without harming the base of the plant. Or, wait until it reaches 8 to 12 weeks of age and harvest it all in one go.
- Remember, leaf celery does not produce heavy stems, but all parts of the vegetative green growth are edible and versatile in the kitchen.
