More or less the Lord of the Rings of the plant world, cornflower boasts a rich and interesting history. A national and political symbol in Estonia, Finland, Germany and beyond, cornflower has pretty, strikingly blue flowers.

Cornflower's flower is edible and can be used for culinary decoration, for example to add color to salads or desserts. The flower is also effective as a wash for tired eyes. Cornflowers are often used as an ingredient in teas with the most famous one being Lady Grey.

• Cornflower is not heat sensitive and grows best at 18 - 24 °C / 64 - 75 °F.
• Cornflower plant pods don't normally need thinning. For best results, though, keep one to three seedlings per pod.

• Expect to see flowers in about 50 days after planting.

• You may use little blue flowers to garnish your dishes or add them to your tea blend.

• Cornflower generally requires very little care - just remove withered flowers to promote the growth of new ones and raise the lamp to avoid getting the plant burned.

• Depending on how you take care of your Cornflower pods last up to 90 days.
