Tomatoes love the warmth and hate sudden temperature changes e.g. cool breeze. They do well in hot climates and can even grow in temperatures up to 35 °C / 95 °F. Overall grows best at temperatures between 20 - 35 °C / 68 - 95 °F.
-
After sprouting, decrease the number of plants to one per pod to ensure enough space for the plant to grow. You can find more info and a video about thinning here.
-
The tomato doesn’t need that much care. You can pinch off any lower leaves which may turn yellow.
-
The small yellow blossoms need to be artificially pollinated. For that gently shake your plant or use a clean paintbrush to move pollen from one blossom to the next. You can pollinate with your fingertip as well. A guide to pollination can be found here.
-
Tomatoes need some time to ripen. During that time, plant care consists of cleaning the plant from its natural debris.
-
It will take 70 to 110 days from planting the pod to harvesting ripe tomatoes. How long it takes to grow tomatoes can also be checked here.
-
Once the tomatoes have ripened, the plant will start to degrade. The pod has fulfilled the purpose of its life - to produce fruits that contain its seeds.
- If your plant starts to bend because of its own weight, you can just stick a chopstick in the soil and support your plant with it. You can find a guide to staking here.

Mini Tomato has a determinate growth style - so it really is a dwarf cultivar and it does not grow taller.
