Anethum graveolens
Dill's no one-trick pony - make the most of this herb by using the entire plant in nourishing soups, salads, stews and drinks...and (obviously) pickles! Apart from giving an appetising flavour and taste, it has many medicinal properties.
Sprouts in: 1 - 2 weeks
Harvest in: 5 - 8 weeks
-
Dill grows best at 18 - 30 °C / 64 - 86 °F and is a bit slow at the beginning and grow sideways. Soon the growth will accelerate and plants will grow upwards again.
-
We recommend harvesting the whole plant in about one month from planting for the best quality and flavour.
-
If you prefer harvesting single outer leaves first, start doing it in about three weeks after planting, your plant will produce more from its growing point.
-
Harvest all Dill before it ages and loses its signature flavour, a maximum of two months of age.
